Downtown Boise:

Introduction:

Capital of the U.S. state of Idaho is the most heavily populated city of Boise. Boise is located in the southwestern Idaho along the Boise River. The total population calculated in 2010 census was estimated to be 205,671 which accounts to make it the 99th largest nation. In 2013, the estimated population reported to have escalated to 214,237 (United State Census Bureau). The Boise City-Nampa metropolitan area incorporates in itself five countries with a total of 616,500 residents, which makes it the Idaho’s most populated metropolitan area. It comprises of the largest cities of the state namely, Boise, Nampa and Meridian. Boise being the third highest populated metropolitan area in the United States’ Pacific Northwest region, behind Seattle and Portland. According to the famous ‘Time Magazine’ in 2014, Boise is listed on the top amongst the other eight cities in the ‘Solutions for America’ as ‘getting it right’.

According to the calculations of the United States Census Bureau, Boise is spread on an area of 64 sq. mi. it enjoys various neighborhoods like all the major cities of the world. Bench, North End, West Boise and Downtown are amongst the various other neighborhoods that the Boise enjoys. Downtown Boise is amongst the states of Idaho that are known for its culture and business along with its museums and parks.

Downtown Boise is a state of Idaho in the United States situated in the city of Boise. It is considered as the main business district of Boise, Idaho. It is positioned on the north of the Boise River. As it is considered as the cultural hub it is known as a home to various small businesses. Keeping in view, it is obvious the even though the downtown Boise experiences absence of major shopping, dining and entertainment experiences like the ones which are available in the cities like Seattle, Portland and Spokane which provide various options shopping and dining. The main center of the Boise downtown is the 8th Street which possess a foot-traveler zone along with various sidewalk coffee shop and restaurants. The neighborhood is like a home to various native restaurants, bars and boutiques and enjoys an exciting nightlife. The Basque Block is also situated in the area which is a place for the Boise’s Basque heritage. It is a source of entertainment for the visitors and it provides them with a probability to gain knowledge of as well as enjoy the preserved legacy.

The main temptations of Downtown Boise are the Idaho State Capitol, Egyptian Theater, Boise Art Museum and Zoo Boise. The cultural events that take place in the Downtown Boise involves Alive after Five, First Thursday, and the Idaho Potato Drop.

Capitol Parkis one of the few attractions that the Downtown Boise holds for the people. It is a park spread on two acre in the Capitol district on the south of the Idaho State Capitol. The park possess various concrete pathways consisting of beautiful grasses, bushes and plants, planting beds along with the places to sit and picnic tables for people to enjoy their evenings. In 2007, park beautification project was initiated by The Golden Garden Club. New street lights were installed in the park by 2008. In order to honor servicemen and servicewomen who suffered from plaque, a central plaza is there in the park. In addition to that, there are three statues in the park, namely; Lincoln which was created by Alphonson Pelzer in 1915. Steunenberg for illustrating the Governor Steunenberg crafted by Gilver Riswold in 1927 and in the last, Hospitality at Nez Perc constructed by Dough Hyde in 2006 which portrays Meriwether Lewis, William Clark, Chief Twisted Hair and his son Lawyer.

Another source of entertainment of the residents and the tourists of the Downtown Boise is the C.W. Moore Park. Located in old Boise is this C.W.Moore Park, Which is comparatively not a large park. In 1930, Charles Wilkinson Moore who was the First National Bank of Idaho’s former president, gave the land to the city. Until 1983, the land was occasionally used as park but later it was re-created as a permanent park. It still consist of parts of old constructions and symbols along the side of the walls. The park also constitutes of a water wheel and a partition of the Grove Street Ditch which was built in 1866.

Located in the center of downtown is the Grove, a plaza. Various public displays of arts take place in the Grove. Various regular outdoor events together with the local famer’s market take place in the plaza all through the year.

In the memory of Anne Frank, along the Boise River is anIdaho Anne Frank Human Right Memorial. It is a learning area for the people. The memorial includes steered lanes, waterfalls and a 180-foot-long stone wall which is composed of quotes from various writers.

Julia Davis Park is considered to be the biggest park in downtown Boise. The park holds numerous cultural and educational sites, consisting of Zoo Boise, the Boise Art Museum, the Julia Davis Rose Garden, the Gene Harris Band shell, the Idaho State Historical Museum, Discovery Center of Idaho, and the Idaho Black History Museum. Paddleboats, including some shaped like pelicans and swans which are there for renting purposes to explore the lagoon.

Downtown Boise is located at an approximate distance of three miles north from the Boise Airport, which presents the commuter service to and fromChicago,Denver,Honolulu,Las Vegas,Lewsiton,LosAngeles,McCall,Minneapolis,Oakland,Phoenix,Portland,Sacramento,Seattle,Salmon, Salt Lake City,San Diego,San Francisco,San Jose,Spokaneand Stanley.

Downtown Boise has bus terminals at Bannock and Thirteenth Streets under the Greyhound. Greyhound takes the buses to Salt Lake City to Pendleton continuing to Portland, Seattle, and Spokane. It also offers various routes that take along the Boise metropolitan area.

Moreover, except from all these recreational and entertainment that Downtown Boise provides to the people residing there, it has the largest number of employed masses. This is the reason why the economy of the state is strong. Total 6000-6500 employees are working in the St. Luke’s health system. The state also comprises of the tallest buildings in the city of Idaho. Zions Bank building is the tallest building residing in the city of Idaho since 2013. Its height is 323 ft. with 18 floors in total. Second to that is the U.S Bank Plaza which heights to 267 ft. with a total of 19 floors. It was considered to be the tallest building in Idaho from 1987 to 2013, i.e. prior to the construction of the Zions Bank building.

For the river crossings, various bridges have been constructed in the state to facilitate the people.

Americana Bridge is a bridge which passes the Americana Boulevard and two paths over the river. To connect Anne Morrison Park and the Boise River Greenbelt, there is Pioneer Footbridge which is actually a pedestrian bridge. In 1987, Ninth Street Bridge was constructed to give way to the southbound lanes of Ninth Street. Memorial Bridge is a solid curve bridge which was built in 1931, carrying northbound roads of Capitol Boulevard and two paths over the river. Another pedestrian bridge is known as Friendship Bridge which was constructed with a purpose to connect the Boise State University campus with the Julia Davis Park. Constructed in 1956 was the Broadway Bridge with the aim to carry Broadway Avenue and two paths across the river.

According to a survey, in United States the best state for men in 2013 is considered to be the Idaho state in terms of health, quality of life and fitness. The criteria including the rate of unemployment, the cost of living, the death toll, criminal activities even the air quality, Boise fulfilled all the criteria up to the mark and is considered the best state for the people to enrich their life. (NIEMIEC). Overall crime rate of the state is very low hence s considered to be the safest place to live in. the state is also considered to be amongst the top ten best cities to live in along with the 2nd ranking amongst the top best places for businesses and careers.

The education in the state is also remarkable. The state comprises of a total of 31 elementary schools, 8 junior with 5 high schools, along with that there are 2 special schools for the special children. The city also have established a law school in 2012.

All in all the state have all the facilities that a person desires to live peacefully along with other perks of life that define the standards of life. The state have all the basic necessities of life e.g. education, entertainment, security and healthy life. There are opportunities for people to work and earn their livings in a better way along with the escalated business opportunities and careers for the people.

Conclusion:

Keeping in mind the pros and cons of the various states of the United States, it is established that Bios Idaho Downtown is the best state to live in. Surveys have been conducted to establish these facts that Bios have the minimum unemployment rate in the United States which depicts that the people of the state are earning well enough to keep their living standards up to the mark. The state is least polluted and which means that healthy environment and air is there for the people to breath in healthy. The criminal rate is least in the state which means that people have a safe living standard in the state.

Therefore keeping in mind all these pros of the states, we can make up the mind that downtown bios is the most amazing state of United States.
